What is Après Altitude? And Why Did We Make It?

By: Melani O'Meara, Founder of JetSet Botanicals

There is a moment (you know this moment) after a long day that no one really talks about.

You are finally alone. The door is closed. The bags are down. Your body exhales before your mind does.

That moment is what this body drop was made for. To take that moment and expand it.

JetSet Botanicals has always been about skin under pressure. Flying. Dry air. Long days. Constant movement. But I kept coming back to the same question as I was building this brand. What happens after? After the flight. After the meetings. After the stress your body has been quietly holding all day.

I wanted to create products that feel like permission. Permission to slow down. To touch your body with intention. To let go.

The après altitude body collection is not about fixing anything. It is about intentional release. Here's what I had in mind...

It starts in the shower, because that's where everything loosens first. The sugar scrub was designed to feel indulgent but grounding. Fine sugar crystals, rice powder and colloidal oatmeal smooth the skin without scraping it. Jojoba oil, meadowfoam seed oil, and squalane keep the experience nourishing instead of stripping. Your skin feels soft while you are using it, not tight afterward. The scent is warm and creamy with fig notes that feel luxurious but also comforting and familiar. This is not about aggressive exfoliation. It is about resetting your skin and your nervous system at the same time.

Once your skin is warm and freshly polished, everything absorbs better. That's where the barrier support oil comes in. I wanted something that felt elegant and light but deeply supportive. Meadowfoam and olive derived squalane mimic the skin’s natural lipids so the oil sinks in beautifully. Jojoba oil and jojoba esters soften and condition without heaviness. Blue tansy and geranium were chosen not just for their skin calming benefits, but for how they make you feel. Grounded. Clear. Balanced. This is the oil you reach for when your skin feels a little stressed and you want to bring it back to neutral.

And then there's the oil you use when your body is asking for more than hydration. When you need more of a boost.

The arnica and blue lotus massage oil was created for evenings when you feel the day in your shoulders, your legs, your hips. The base is silky and slow so it gives you time. Arnica helps ease the feeling of physical tension. Blue lotus brings a sense of openness, euphoria and calm that feels almost emotional. Magnolia bark supports deep relaxation and that quiet feeling you get right before sleep. This oil is meant to be used on targeted areas. On yourself or with someone you trust. There is no rush here.

Together, these products create a tactile rhythm. Shower. Touch. Deep exhale.

They are not meant to live on a shelf. They are meant to live in quiet evenings at home. They are meant to mark the moment when you stop performing and start arriving back into your body.

This drop is deeply personal to me. It reflects how I want to feel after travel or stress and the environment I create to achieve that feeling. Soft. Calm. Grounded. Restored.

If JetSet Botanicals is about resilience, this collection is about recovery. And sometimes, that is the most luxurious thing of all.
